EXTREME!

So i’m getting kind of bored of seeing everyone with their thoughts on how extreme they are…. From doing hours of cardio everyday, to eating friggen bags and bags of spinach.
You must be a real true athlete, oh my god I cant believe all the dedication it takes to do all of that, all of your lettuce and all of your cardio…
Insert Sarcastic eyebrow raise. 

Look – I get if you want to eat lettuce, spinach, do Low Intensity steady state. That’s all fine and dandy. But to think you’re a superior being because of it? Okay, time for reality to come and hit you on the head like the acorn does.
*No, the sky isn’t falling. You are just in need of a damn wake-up call.*

The thing is, you are not better than anyone else. No matter how extreme you dub yourself to be. You can do all the cardio, eat all the vegetables, do all the plyos… But you are no better than the genetically gifted individuals. And doing all of this extreme(or as I like to call it, bullshit) stuff, you really miss the point. It’s not about doing all of these things all of the time and going through the motions…. REAL ATHLETES go balls to the wall during their training. No matter what the hell they eat. So whether you’re eating “clean foods” or your eating a chocolate chip muffin from the donut shop, you do not hold a hierarchy over the donut eater.

ALSO – BEING A BODYBUILDER DOES NOT MEAN, DO HOURS OF CARDIO TO GET LEAN AND EAT SPINACH ALL DAY. TRY LIFTING A FEW WEIGHTS AND BUILDING SOME MUSCLE BEFORE YOU GO ON ABOUT HOW YOU CANT COMPETE NEXT TO THESE GIRLS BECAUSE THEY ARE SO BIG… YOU NEED TO RE-ASSESS WHAT YOU’RE TRAINING FOR. WORK TOWARDS YOUR GOAL, NOT TOWARDS A HALF MARATHON, THAT’S THE WRONG SPORT.

One thing that also drives me insane, is watching people use a show as a means to ” get in shape “. Instead of getting in shape, and as a reward, perhaps down the road do a show to showcase that you are killing it! But the fact that there are a lot of people using the show thing to get theirselves to the ideal body… Well that’s just a means to an end. An appetite for destruction, and a recipe for disaster. 

If you find yourself…. Binging, not training in your offseason(EVER) giving into all of your cravings yet still preaching about how extremely clean you are…. Chances are, you may want to re-consider your purpose. is this show for you, or is this show for attention? Do you actually want to be in shape, because you complain quite a lot about it… Or do you just want to be a people pleaser, or maybe get more likes on instagram?

Maybe this is a road worth travelling to find yourself…
